About Me

My name is Sonia and I’m originally from Poland, I moved to the Scottish capital in 2018, and I currently hold two degrees from the University of Edinburgh, an MA in Modern Languages (Spanish), and MSc in Translation Studies. Though I absolutely love working with words, in 2021 I discovered I also adore taking travellers around Edinburgh. I started in the middle of the pandemic, so it wasn’t always smooth sailing. This is why I appreciate every single guest who comes to visit, and I aim to give them the best experience possible.

What’s a non-Scottish person doing guiding tours in Edinburgh? I genuinely believe me being foreign is a blessing in disguise, because I was once new to this country too - so I can empathise with the culture shock some of you might be experiencing. I can look at the city with fresh eyes and offer an outside perspective about the good, bad and ugly sides of Edinburgh that locals may be lacking.
